Signing up for MalaysianCupid may be lengthy. You need to use your email address to create a new account. After that, you will be asked to upload your profile photo. This, as per MalaysianCupid, will ensure you ten times the attention.

Next is the personality test. It starts with you writing a brief description of yourself and the person you are looking for on the website. Appear in more search results or find more matches when you complete your profile. Editing your profile comes in seven sections: Photos, Profile, Match, Interest, Personality, CupidTags, and Verify Profile. 

One to notice is the CupidTags section. Pick five words from the pool of popular CupidTags and click ‘Submit’. By setting up five CupidTags, your matches multiply.

You are encouraged to upload at least five photos in the photos section. While the profile section includes more questions about you, the match section contains the questions about your match. The interest and personality sections have more questions about you. The last section, which is Verify Profile, is an identity confirmation wherein you will attach any of the following government-issued IDs: passport, driver’s license, or National ID Card.

After completing your profile, you will be taken to the home page, where you will see online members. Every picture includes the name, age, country, gender of the match, and that person’s age range.

Upon logging in, the home page will lead you to the first special feature: the online members. Browse the page, send interest, or add to favorites as a standard member.

All the other special features also work for non-paying members. The second feature is the link to your matches. It is a simple catalogue of your match’s profile photo, age, location, and the person he/she seeks. There is a button below each photo for instant messaging. However, users without a membership can only send messages to members with a paid membership. You can identify members with a paid membership by the green checkmark icon next to their profile name.

Live chat is also a communication function exclusive to paying subscribers. If you are a platinum member, you will be ranked above the standard and gold members.

Another feature is the activity page, where you will find the members’ activities towards you and you towards them. It shows the interests you received, the members who added you to their favorites, and your profile visitors. It also monitors your activities on interests, favorites, and visits.

Also found on top of your home page is a quick search for matches. You can modify the gender, age, country, state/province, city, and distance range, and then hit ‘Search’. 

Even if you are only a standard member, you can read everything about other members’ information. You can easily take note of their age, location, country and gender they seek. You can also view all their uploaded pictures.

We did not have a hard time finding information about other members. It is very well enumerated from their basic information to their whole body appearance, their everyday lifestyle, religion, favourites – on food, movie, book, music, dress style, etc. We saw the same set of information as the other users. It is written in a table form with two columns. The left column is about that member, and the right column is about that member’s match preference.

You can opt to block or report a user. Both actions can be found alongside the buttons ‘show interest’, ‘send message’, and ‘add to favourites’. You will be asked to choose the reason, write a comment and attach your evidence about the abuse.

Filter your matches in another fun feature the website calls ‘CupidTags’. You can find more members that describe themselves like you.

You can upload up to five photos on your profile. Ensure that you follow the site's photo guidelines, or else your profile might be suspended or your photo might be terminated. You can have your profile be verified by submitting scanned copies of your identification documents. Despite the site's strict regulations, fake profiles are still possible.
